Desert Embroidery is one of several initiatives developed by Laqia Women’s Association which works to advance the status of Beduin women. With transition from nomadic way of life to a fixed dwelling place and from an agrarian to urban economy, the Beduin woman lost the ability to contribute to her own and family’s livelihood.
After visiting the Beduin village Laqia in 2007 I donated this site design to their effort to allow Beduin women proper working place.
